About BMP
BMP is the bitmap format of Windows, around since its first versions. Most BMP files store every pixel as it is, so they open quickly and look exactly as saved, but they're big.
You still meet them in old documents and games, and in what scanners and industrial software save. A DIB file is the same thing, a device independent bitmap, under another extension.
Every browser can show a BMP. Filepeek adds its size and the zoom, and Save as PNG gives you the same pixels in a file that's usually far smaller.

Questions
How do I make a BMP smaller?
Open it, choose Export, then Save as PNG. PNG is lossless too, so the pixels stay the same and the file shrinks.
What is a DIB file?
A device independent bitmap, the same format as BMP under another extension. It opens here the same way.
Is my image uploaded?
No. It opens inside your browser and stays on your device.
