About IIQ

IIQ is the raw format of Phase One's medium format digital backs and cameras, like the XF and XT with an IQ4 back. The IQ4 150MP writes files of 151 megapixels, 14204 by 10652 pixels.

An IIQ is built on TIFF. IIQ L files are compressed losslessly to about half their size, in 14 or 16 bit, and IIQ S files are near lossless and smaller still. Photographers usually develop them in Phase One's Capture One.

No browser shows IIQ by itself. Filepeek develops it with LibRaw, the open source raw decoder, using the camera's white balance. A 150 megapixel file takes a few seconds and is shown at half size, so your device keeps enough memory.

Questions

How do I open an IIQ without Capture One?

Drop it on this page or press Peek an IIQ. Filepeek develops it in your browser, so you can check a shot on any computer, and Export saves it as JPEG or PNG.

What's the difference between IIQ L and IIQ S?

IIQ L is compressed losslessly. IIQ S uses near lossless compression for smaller files. Filepeek opens both.

Why do the colors differ from Capture One?

Capture One develops IIQ files with Phase One's own color profiles. Filepeek develops the raw data neutrally with LibRaw, using the camera's white balance, so colors and contrast can differ.

Is my photo uploaded?

No. The IIQ is developed inside your browser, so client work and big files alike stay on your device.
